Reinforced Concrete Arch Pipe (Arch) is available to design engineers for areas were various constraints may prohibit the use of standard RCP. Standard Arch pipe is available in an equivalent “B-wall” thickness and Class II thru Class IV designs.
Design engineers will often specific Arch pipe in areas of rehab that require additional flow area or areas where a single arch pipe could be utilized in lieu of multiple RCP lines.
While the arch shape does provide some structural design benefit, conventional round pipe (RCP) is the most cost-effective solution for most applications.
